ACTION MAN SAS - Action Man Supplies

On the 5th of May 1980 “Operation Nimrod” was launched by a select team of SAS soldiers to bring to an end a six-day siege after gunmen took 26 people hostage in the Iranian embassy building in London. After the gunmen killed one of the hostages the special forces team moved in and rescued the remaining 19 hostages neutralising five of the six hostage-takers in only 17 minutes, making it one of the most successful anti-terrorist operations to be carried out on British soil.

To mark the occasion Palitoy launched its own range of SAS figures starting with an SAS outfit which was released as part of the “Experts” range, this was followed by the SAS Commander, SAS Beachhead attack, SAS Underwater Attack, SAS Parachute Attack and the SAS Secret Mission Pod.
