ARMISTICE DAY (Remembrance Sunday)
November the 11th 1918: Armistice Day (or Veterans Day in the United States), commemorates the end of World War One.
The War officially ended when the armistice was signed and took effect at 11:00 am.
At the 11th hour on the 11th day of the 11th month we remember them.

D-DAY
June the 6th, 1944:  Invasion of Normandy, France. More than 150,000 Allied troops landed along a 50-mile stretch of heavily-fortified French coastline, it was the largest seaborne invasion in history, and the beginning of the liberation of Western Europe.
The 6th of June 2024 marks 80 years since the D-Day landings.

VE DAY (Victory in Europe)
May the 8th, 1945: World War II ended in Europe.
The 8th of May 2025 marks 80 years since the end of World War Two in Europe.

VJ DAY (Victory over Japan)
August the 15th, 1945: Marks the day Japan surrendered, effectively ending the Second World War. However, the United States marks it as the 2nd of September, which is the anniversary of the signature of the Instrument of Surrender.
2025 marks 80 years since the end of World War Two.
